Our Story

Hey! I’m Sharnae Williams, founder and owner of Nature’s Little Secret.

Before starting Nature’s Little Secret, I worked as a hairstylist for eight years. I loved doing hair, but after having my first child, I stepped away from behind the chair. At the time, I thought that chapter of my life was over—but God had other plans.

In 2014, I decided to stop relaxing my hair after noticing how much it was thinning. I have naturally thick, dense hair, so one day when I looked in the mirror and thought, “Wait—I can see my scalp?” Oh, absolutely not. 😂 That did not sit right with me at all.

As I began my natural hair journey, finding the right products became a journey of its own. Many were expensive, contained ingredients I wanted to avoid, or simply didn’t give me the results I was looking for. I wanted products that worked, felt good in my hair, and didn’t feel impossible to afford.

Then, one day in 2016, after hearing me complain about products yet again, my husband said, “You’re so tired of these products—why don’t you make your own?”

I looked at him like he was absolutely crazy. 😂

But he was onto something.

So, I took matters into my own hands—literally. I researched ingredients, learned about formulating, mixed products in my kitchen, and tested them on myself, family, and friends until I created something my hair actually loved.

For the next two years, I continued learning, testing, and perfecting my formulas. Then, in 2018, I was finally ready to share them with the world—and Nature’s Little Secret was officially born.

I chose the 2018 Baltimore Natural Hair Expo to introduce NLS and sell my products for the very first time. When I tell you I was TERRIFIED! I had no idea what I was doing or what to expect.

I was smiling in the photo, but my heart was pounding—and don’t mind the hair. I was still growing out my heat damage, okay? 😂

But I showed up anyway—scared and all.

And that day changed my life.

What began as a solution for my own hair grew into something so much bigger. I created Nature’s Little Secret with textured hair like mine in mind, but over time, people with all hair types began falling in love with our products too.

Today, Nature’s Little Secret creates affordable high-performing hair care inspired by nature, using carefully selected ingredients to deliver the moisture, nourishment, and results your hair deserves.
