I love this product! I've tried a lot of gels on my curly hair but this one is very different. The texture is like a cream and a gel combined which gives my curls more longevity. I have almost every Nature's Little Secret products and I love all of them.
My mom and I purchased the okra gel and I’d used it randomly over the last couple of years for styling or to smooth down flyaways for protective styles. Since then, I welcomed a baby boy. He has a lot of kinky, coily hair. I tried the Melanin twisting cream and he broke out in little bumps all over his face and body. So I used the okra gel instead and it has been amazing. I bought the banana leave in and sea moss styling cream and those are great as well. His hair feels so soft after using the whole regimen!
It locked my hair up and dried it out. I would not recommend it for a hair style just to slick my type 3c 4a down.
I have ordered the entire line of Nature's Little Secret products and they are the best hair products so far that I have tried! The shampoo and conditioner are cleansing and moisturizing and don't get me started with the okra curl defining gel. My hair is shiny, moisturized, and my curls last for over a week. However, it took over two weeks for me to receive my products which is why I'm giving this 4 stars instead of five.

Absolutely love this gel! It gives a firm hold and lasts me all week. I'm genuinely surprised at how long the hold lasts. Usually by Thursday my hair is fluffy and I have to add additional product. With the Okra Gel, I can just wet my hair and once it dries, the hold is back. I also like that even though this gel give a firm hold, my hair is still flexible and I can wear my up and my curls still look good. I will say that there is a learning curve, I don't usually wash my hair in shower, so it was damp when I first used it. I found that although the hold was great, it didn't last the entire week. The next time I used it, I added more water to my hair before I started and the hold lasted the full week. I haven't gotten any flaking but I did notice that it does goop up when I'm applying it. But once it's dry, I don't see any goops or flakes.
The okra gel always defines my type 4 hair and will last for days. And I love that it can easily be refreshed by adding water and a little leave in conditioner (at night twist or braid it and take it down in the morning) works great! This is the 3rd jar that I have bought and it never disappoints. I will continue to buy it 🩷

The slip is amazing on my 4b/c hair.
NLS has done wonders for my type 4, high density, medium/fine strand, low porosity hair. I feel like these products are actually formulated for my hair type without the heaviness. My hair is flowy, bouncy, coily and hydrated again! I hope to be a NLS girlie for life! I paired the okra gel(2) with their banana leave in(1) and sealed with jojoba oil (3) for my twists and these are my results! LASTING HYDRATION YES!

I've used the defining gel a few times and for the Florida summer it gets puffy. But I will try it again Fall /Winter time.
It’s a great gel - the application is so smooth and my hair looks and feels incredible every time I use it. I love that it can work well in both cooler and warmer temperatures, making it a year-round staple for me.
Slips easily onto damp hair and my curls really popped on the first day. My hair type gets frizzy the day after washing, but when I look closely the curls are still defined.
Love it! Great for laying down my hair for a ponytail!
This product is really good, it leaves my hair with a nice medium hold and last for days plus it has a sweet scent

I really like this product! Offers good hold but it also moisturizing.
I try to keep at least 3 jars of this item in my cabinet. I stock up, especially when there's a sale. I go into panic mode when I have only one jar left. I have. This product works. It defines my curls so beautifully! I get many compliments on my curl pattern when I use this defining gel!
